The iconic two-wheeler brand BSA has unveiled its second motorcycle, the B65 Scrambler, at the Birmingham Motorcycle Live show. Based on the Gold 650, the B65 Scrambler is set to take on the recently launched Royal Enfield Bear 650. The BSA scrambler is expected to make its debut in India next year. Here’s a spec comparison between the two scramblers.
BSA B65 Scrambler vs Royal Enfield Bear 650: Engine
The new BSA Scrambler, the B65, will be powered by the 652 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine like the Goldstar 650. It will produce 45 bhp at 6500 rpm and 55 Nm at 4000 rpm of torque. It is expected to retain the 5-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch rather than BSA updating it to a 6-speed one.

The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is powered by the 648cc air-oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering 47 bhp at 7,250 rpm. What sets it apart from other Royal Enfield 650 models is its superior torque output of 56.5 Nm at 5,150 rpm—an increase of 4.2 Nm, thanks to its unique two-in-one exhaust system. The Bear 650 also features a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

BSA B65 Scrambler vs Royal Enfield Bear 650: Hardware
Both the motorcycles are based on double cradle frame with the B65 getting 41 mm traditional front forks with twin shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload. It consists of 320 mm Brembo disc brakes in front and 255 mm disc at the rear. The Scrambler sports 110/80 19-inch Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR in front and 150/70 17-inch at the rear. It is has a wheelbase of 1463 mm, seat height of 820 mm and weighs 218 kg. BSA has not revealed the ground clearance of BS65.

The Royal Enfield Bear 650 has all-new upside-down Showa front forks and a dual-coil suspension setup at the rear. Designed as a scrambler, it features dual-purpose spoke wheels, with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear for enhanced off-road capability. Weighing in at 216 kg, the Bear 650 offers a saddle height of 830 mm and a ground clearance of 174 mm.
