It was reported a few days ago that Toyota will be launching the next generation of Camry in India soon. It has now come to light that the Japanese auto giant will be bringing the new-gen Camry to India on 11 December 2024. Officially known as Camry XV80, this will be the ninth-gen model of the premium D-segment sedan.
The new Toyota Camry made its global debut in November last year and is currently on sale in several international markets including the USA. This will replace the outgoing model which has been on sale in India since 2019 and received a small mid-cycle facelift in 2022.
Toyota has sent us a “Block Your Date” invite without mentioning the name of the model to be unveiled. However, it can be safely assumed that the company will be launching the new Camry. Like the current iteration, the new-gen Camry will be locally assembled in India via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits.

New-gen Toyota Camry: Expected design
The latest Camry boasts a refined and sporty design. Up front, a sleeker grille, redesigned LED headlights with integrated DRLs, and a reshaped bumper with wider air intakes create a more aggressive look. The side profile showcases a streamlined silhouette, sculpted body lines, and stylish 19-inch alloy wheels available in black or smoke grey.

At the rear, wraparound LED taillights, a rear lip spoiler, a redesigned diffuser, and a dual-tip exhaust add a touch of sportiness. Other notable exterior features include a shark-fin antenna, chrome “CAMRY” lettering, a new clamshell hood, and two fresh colour options: Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal. The top trim level even offers a two-tone paint scheme with a black roof. Overall design of the new Camry draws inspiration from the US-spec Prius, resulting in a modern and aerodynamic aesthetic.
