The Hero Mavrick was launched much after the Harley-Davidson X440 in India and the former has already seen its first update. Showcased at EICMA, the updated Hero Mavrick gets minor mechanical changes and is now on par with the X440. Let’s take a closer look at the updates on the Hero Mavrick and how similar it is to the Harley-Davidson X440, while also looking at the differences between them.

The Hero Mavrick has been more of a relaxed street bike compared to the Harley-Davidson X440’s cruiser take. This difference remains between both motorcycles. The Hero Mavrick is a more muscular-looking motorcycle compared to the Harley X440, and apart from the styling, the wheel sizes differ — the Mavrick runs on 17-inch wheels while the X440 runs an 18-17 set-up.

Other differences remain in the details, such as the alloy wheel design, the paint scheme of the two motorcycles, and the amount of power they make although they are powered by the same engine. These are pretty much the differences between the two motorcycles, as the recent update has bridged the gap.

While the Hero Mavrick currently on sale gets telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks, the updated version gets USD forks at the front. The rear shocks remain the same. On the Harley-Davidson X440, the suspension setup has always been USD forks up front and dual shocks at the rear.
The next similarity is the instrument console—the updated Hero Mavrick gets a TFT display, which looks identical to the Harley-Davidson X440’s unit. There is no news about whether the console sees an update in terms of UI/UX. Of course, the biggest similarity between them is the platform and engine, but the latter is toned down a bit to suit the motorcycle better.
