New Maruti Dzire vs Old Maruti Dzire: What’s changed?

The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire has finally broken cover, after several spy shots of the new compact sedan were spied in recent months. Based on the fourth-gen Swift which was officially launched earlier in May this year, the new Dzire has received comprehensive upgrades over the existing model.

Bookings for the new-gen Dzire have already commenced at a token amount of Rs 11,000 at all Maruti Arena showrooms across the country as well as Maruti Suzuki’s website. Let us look at some of the key changes in the new third-gen Dzire over the outgoing model.

New Maruti Dzire vs Old Maruti Dzire: Design

The design of the new Maruti Dzire has been completely revamped although the overall shape and size of the sedan remains largely unchanged. The all-new Maruti Dzire measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,525 mm in height. The car’s wheelbase is 2,450 mm and has a ground clearance of 163 mm. Barring the dimensions, everything else in the exterior of the upcoming Dzire is different.

Up front, the Dzire gets a redesigned face featuring a new vertically-slatted grille finished in gloss black grille headlined by a chrome trim connecting a pair of sleeker projector LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and turn indicators. The fog lamps are nestled within a glossy black bezel, while both the grille and air dam are housed in a blacked-out assembly with horizontal slats. At the rear, the slightly reshaped tailgate also gets a chrome trim with new taillamps with Y-shaped LED internals.

The interior layout of the new Dzire is completely relaid with a new freestanding 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit.
