Let’s start with the differences. The Aprilia Tuono 457 is a naked street fighter and does not get a full fairing like the RS 457. That said, the Tuono also gets a flat handlebar instead of clip-ons, and the headlight setup is different — the Tuono gets vertically stacked lights instead of the split light setup on the RS 457.

The change in the handlebar gives the Tuono a more relaxed riding position compared to the committed ergonomics of the RS 457, making it easier to use every day. These are some of the biggest and most important differences between the new Aprilia Tuono and the RS 457.

On to the similarities, there is a long list. The Tuono and the RS 457 are based on the same frame, meaning they also share a lot of components. They get the same adjustable USD forks up front, a monoshock at the rear, 17-inch wheels front and rear, and disc brakes at both ends. The two motorcycles also share electronics such as traction control, dual-channel ABS, ride modes, and get a TFT instrument cluster with phone connectivity.

The biggest similarity is the engine on the new Tuono and RS 457. They are powered by the same 457cc, liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed gearbox. Aprilia also offers a quickshifter as part of the accessories package, along with other items.
