New Hero Xpulse 210 — Old vs new

The Hero Xpulse became an instant hit for those wanting a light off-road-focused motorcycle. The 200cc engine always left riders wanting more, but the tall suspension travel and its weight made it a capable motorcycle. Adding to that was Hero’s suspension upgrades for better off-roading. Now, with the launch of the Xpulse 210, Hero has addressed a pressing problem.

The new Hero Xpulse gets more than just a new engine. Here are the differences between the Hero Xpulse 200 and the new Hero Xpulse 210.

New Hero Xpulse 210 — Old vs new differences

The biggest difference between the Hero Xpulse 200 and the new Xpulse 210 is of course the engine. The new motorcycle gets a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine compared to the older version’s air-cooled engine. Also, the motorcycle now gets a six-speed gearbox compared to the older one’s five-speed unit.

The next big difference is the instrument console. The new Hero Xpulse 210 gets a TFT dash, replacing the LCD instrument console on the Xpulse 200. The dash seems well laid out, offering information on speed, rpm, ABS mode, gear position, and so on. Overall, the changes may be limited, but are big in terms of what changes they bring to the new motorcycle.

New Hero Xpulse 210 — Old vs new similarities

The new Hero Xpulse 210 and the Xpulse 200 have a few similarities as well. The suspension is the same — long travel telescopic units at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The wheels are the same, 21-inch at the front and 18-inch at the rear with wire-spoke wheels. The overall design of the motorcycle is also retained with a high front fender, round LED headlight, side-slung exhaust, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, and more.

The Hero Xpulse 210 will be launched in India soon and like any product from Hero MotoCorp, the motorcycle will be priced competitively. The Xpulse 210 does not have a direct competitor in the Indian market and the closest is the Kawasaki KLX 230, which will carry a higher price tag.
