EICMA 2024: Aprilia Tuono 457 officially unveiled

Aprilia has unveiled the Tuono 457 at EICMA, the second motorcycle based on the Aprilia RS 457 platform. The Aprilia Tuono is a street bike based on the same chassis and engine as the RS 457 and will rival the KTM 390 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 310, BMW G 310 R, and others in the segment. Let’s take a closer look at the new Aprilia Tuono 457.

New Aprilia Tuono 457: Design and features

While the Tuono name has been around, the badge is new in this segment. The motorcycle is essentially a naked version of the RS 457 and does not get the full fairing as the RS 457, but gets a few interesting pieces of bodywork. The headlight setup, for example, is new even to the Tuono lineup as the lights are vertically stacked and get DRLs on either side. The front gets aero work and the tank has shrouds, and that’s about it.

The motorcycle is suspended by adjustable USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, LED lighting all around, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, 17-inch wheels, and an underbelly exhaust. The Aprilia Tuono 457 gets a TFT dash similar to the RS 457 along with all the electronic aids such as traction control, ABS modes, ride modes, and phone connectivity.

New Aprilia Tuono 457: Engine specifications

As mentioned earlier, the engine is the same unit as the RS 457, a liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Tuono will get a quickshifter as part of the accessory package, along with other bits. The Aprilia Tuono 457’s India launch is expected to showcase the Tuono 457 at India Bike Week, followed by its launch early next year.
