Skoda Kylaq to make debut tomorrow: All we know so far

Skoda is gearing up to launch its first subcompact SUV in India. With this Czech carmaker will re-enter the sub-4 metre space in the country after the Fabia was discontinued in early 2020.

Ahead of its debut tomorrow, the Czech carmaker has started its aggressive promotional campaign for the Kylaq on its social media platforms. The latest teasers feature ace Bollywood director Rohit Shetty who will be involved in the unveiling of the Kylaq tomorrow. So we can expect some high octane action when the subcompact SUV breaks cover.

Skoda Kylaq: Design & features

Although the Kylaq has only been spotted or seen wrapped inside a heavy camouflage until now, it is very much clear that it will carry forward the same design philosophy as the rest of its model. The Kylaq sports a split headlight design like other SUVs in the Skoda lineup, all LED lights and the signature butterfly design front grille. The top variant will get all-black alloy wheels and the rear comes with T-shaped LED taillamps.

Inside, the cabin of the Kylaq is also inspired by the Kushaq and Slavia which is equipped with a 10-inch touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument console, a wireless phone charger, electrically adjustable seats, front ventilated seats and connected car tech to name a few. 

In terms of safety, the Kylaq is loaded with with over 25 safety features, including six airbags, traction and stability control, anti-lock brakes, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Disc Wiping, Roll Over Protection, Motor Slip Regulation, Electronic Differential Lock, Passenger airbag deactivation, Multi Collision Braking and ISOFIX seats among many others. Skoda may have missed a trick by not equipping the Kylaq with an ADAS safety feature.
