Skoda Kylaq set to make blockbuster debut in Rohit Shetty style on Nov 6

Skoda is set to re-enter the sub-4 metre space after a long time with the Kylaq. It will be the Czech carmaker’s first subcompact SUV in India and will be based on the familiar MQB A0 IN architecture which also underpins Slavia and Kushaq– the company’s other two local offerings for the country.

We recently got to drive the subcompact SUV in a camouflaged avatar a few weeks ago. You can check out our impressions in the link given below. Meanwhile, Skoda is gearing up for a thunderous debut of the Kylaq in a full Bollywood style. The company has announced its global premier that will take place on 6 November 2024.

In all probability, the Kylaq will be making its digital debut on Jio Cinema through a promotional film which will be directed by Rohit Shetty, who’s known for making high octane action sequences in his masala movies which are very popular among the masses. Shetty is also known to be personally involved in every action sequence incorporated in his films. Therefore, we can expect some thrilling visuals on display.

Skoda Kylaq: Expected powertrain

Coming back to the Kylaq, it will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which churns out 114 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be carried out either by a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. There is still some uncertainty regarding features to be offered but expect the Kylaq to be loaded with all the bells and whistles.
