Upcoming Aprilia Tuareg 457 vs KTM 390 Adventure R — Spec comparison

The two-wheeler industry has seen an explosion of adventure motorcycles, especially in the sub-500cc segment. Motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure and the upcoming KTM Adventure series have suited many riders looking for a capable machine that doesn’t scare the rider. Now, Aprilia is joining the game as well, with the Tuareg 457, which has been spotted testing.

Since the Aprilia RS457 is already on sale in India and the arrival of the KTM 390 Adventure series, it is only a matter of time before the Italian manufacturer brings the Tuareg 457 to India. So, if you’re in the market looking for an adventure motorcycle, here’s how the Aprilia Tuareg 457 compares against the KTM 390 Adventure in terms of specifications.

Aprilia Tuareg 457 vs KTM 390 Adventure R — Spec comparison

Before we get into the specification details, let’s take a quick look at both motorcycles. The Aprilia Tuareg 457 features typical adventure styling with long travel USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, spoked wheels likely to be a 21-17 setup, disc brakes at both ends, a high-mounted fairing, and a flat rally seat. While the motorcycle is seen with a navigation tower, the road version will not have it.

The KTM 390 Adventure also gets similar equipment, adjustable USD forks (R variant), 21-17 tyre setup, spoke wheels, disc brakes at both ends, and a high front fender. Both motorcycles will get electronic aids, but the KTM will surely get traction control cornering ABS, a quickshifter, and more.

Now, the engine specifications — the Aprilia Tuareg 457 will get the same 457cc, liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. We are not clear if it will be in the same state of tune as seen on the RS 457, where it makes 47bhp and 43.5Nm of torque.
