Adani Ports records highest ever cargo volume at 41.5 MMT in March, posts 9% YoY growth

Adani Ports And Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) on Wednesday released its business update for the month of March wherein it announced that the company has handled 41.5 MMT cargo volume during the period. This, it added, was up 9 per cent on a year-on-year basis and is also the highest  ever cargo volume posted by the company. The growth was led by container handling which witnessed a 19 per cent YoY increase and the liquid & gas segment which recorded a 5 per cent surge in volumes, Adani Ports said in a regulatory filing. 

Vizhinjam port, meanwhile, crossed 100,000 TEUs milestone during the month.

With this, APSEZ said, Mundra became the first India post ever to cross 200 MT annual cargo volume. Mundra port handled 200.7 MMT cargo volume during FY25. 

During the financial year, APSEZ handled 450.2 MMT cargo volume, posting a growth of 7 per cent on YoY basis. This growth was led by a 20 per cent YoY growth in container handling and liquids and gas segment which reported a growth of 9 per cent on-year. 

Further, during FY25, logistics rail volume stood at 0.64 Mn TEUs, up 8 per cent YoY and GPWIS volume was at 21.97 MMT, reporting a growth of 9 per cent YoY. 

Earlier in January, Adani Ports had released its fiscal third quarter earnings report with profit at Rs 2,520.26 crore, up 14.12 per cent YoY. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 7,963.55 crore for the quarter in review, up 15.08 per cent as against Rs 6,920.10 crore during the third quarter of FY24. 

The company had also upgraded FY25 EBITDA forecast to Rs 18,800-18,900 crore.

Shares of APSEZ were down 0.34 per cent at 9:25 am at a trading price of Rs 1,170.00.
