Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 officially unveiled — All you need to know

Royal Enfield has officially unveiled the Interceptor Bear 650 — the scrambler based on the 650cc platform. The Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear is based on the Interceptor platform, however, gets a host of changes, which include an engine tweak to make more torque. Here are all the details you need to know about the new Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650.

Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 — The details

Although the Bear 650 is based on the Interceptor 650, there is a change in design. The Bear 650 is designed to look more like a scrambler and the bright colour schemes, along with the redesigned flat seat and the new exhaust system add to the styling. The motorcycle gets five colour options to choose from and the launch is expected to take place on November 5.

In terms of equipment, there are changes as well, and the biggest are the USD forks up front instead of the telescopic units. The rear continues to get dual shocks, along with an LED headlight and a TFT dash with inbuilt navigation. The suspension offer more travel than the Interceptor 650 and the motorcycle comes with dual-channel ABS, which the rear can be turned off.

The engine on the motorcycle is the familiar 6500cc parallel-twin motor that makes 47bhp. However, Royal Enfield has tweaked the engine to make more torque and the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 makes 57Nm of torque instead of 52Nm in the Interceptor 650. The engine continues to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
