Instamart to deliver smartphones in 10 cities

Swiggy Instamart on Monday announced that it would start delivering smartphones in 10 major cities, a move that may help the quick commerce platform improve the average order values.

Instamart’s key rivals, Zomato’s Blinkit and Zepto, already deliver smartphones across various cities. Recently, both of these announced the availability of all Apple products on their platforms.

Instamart said that it would also deliver the latest iPhone 16e, along with other phones like Samsung M35, OnePlus Nord CE and Redmi 14C.

The smartphones have been made available in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Faridabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune for now. More cities are likely to be added to the list soon.

“With just a few taps, customers can now enjoy the seamless experience of instant smartphone delivery, right at their fingertips,” said Amitesh Jha, CEO of Swiggy Instamart.

The customers can also avail a 5% discount up to Rs 4,000 on orders above Rs 11,499 in the mobile phones category, using ICICI Bank Credit Cards.

This development comes just days after Swiggy Instamart announced its expansion across 100 cities, the first for a quick commerce platform in the country. With a focus on tier-2 and 3 cities, the platform has added 32 new cities in 2025 alone.

Moreover, electronics has become a popular category in the quick commerce industry with Blinkit now offering costlier items like laptops and printers on its platform. These categories help the order values to increase, providing these companies with better margins, unlike other categories like grocery.

While groceries and daily essentials continue to dominate sales on these platforms, electronics have also found many takers. According to industry estimates, around 11% of sales on quick commerce happen for electronic devices including headphones and battery banks.
