NMDC dividend payout: Check record date and 4 key factors that investors need to watch

NMDC has announced its first interim dividend for FY25. As India’s largest iron ore producer rolls out fresh payouts, its stock performance remains key points of interest.

Dividend announcement and record date

NMDC has declared an interim dividend of Rs 2.30 per share with a face value of Rs 1. The record date for eligibility has been set as March 21, 2025, meaning investors holding shares before this date will be entitled to receive the payout. The actual dividend disbursement is scheduled for April 16, 2025.

“The Board of Directors of the Company in its meeting held on Monday, 17th March 2025 inter-alia declared 1st Interim Dividend at Rs 2.30 (Rupees Two and thirty paise only) per equity share of face value of Rs 1 each for the financial year 2024-25,” said the company in an exchange filing on Monday (March 17).

NMDC has maintained a history of rewarding shareholders with dividends. In FY24, the company distributed a total of Rs 7.25 per share, amounting to Rs 1,685.11 crore. Previous financial years also saw a payouts, with Rs 5.91 per share in FY23 and Rs 14.74 per share in FY22. The dividend yield has typically ranged between 3.6% and 9%.

NMDC’s financial performance

In Q3 FY24, NMDC reported a 26.7% increase in net profit, reaching Rs 1,882 crore compared to Rs 1,484 crore in the same period last year. Revenue also surged by 21.4% to Rs 6,567.8 crore, driven by higher iron ore production and stable demand. EBITDA stood at Rs 2,372 crore, reflecting an 18.17% growth year-on-year.

NMDC’s share price in the previous trading session closed 1.74% higher at Rs 64.91 on the NSE, outperforming the benchmark Nifty, which gained 0.5%.
