Could the next-gen Royal Enfield Interceptor get a 750cc engine?

Royal Enfield has been seen testing a number of updated models, including the Interceptor, Hunter 350, and the Bullet 650. However, as per reports online, the Interceptor that was seen testing could be a larger 750 version, or testing some crucial components that will soon be seen on the Interceptor 650 itself.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 — What is this about?

As per a Bikewale report, Royal Enfield has plans on upgrading the 650cc engine on the Interceptor to a 750cc twin motor — something the company has been working on for the last three years. The new 750cc Royal Enfield engine is expected to be launched in the next two or three years and the motorcycle will also see a slight bump in power and torque.

The recently spotted test mule could be the one since it was seen sporting twin discs at the front and an upgraded front fork assembly. However, going by reports again, this could just be Royal Enfield testing components such as the brakes or suspension and does not mean that the test mule is the 750cc Interceptor.

The first motorcycle to get the new 750cc engine could be the Himalayan, going by reports, and the motorcycle will be more of a tourer than a full-blooded adventure bike. More details will emerge and possibly during EICMA, scheduled to take place soon. Stay tuned as Royal Enfield is expected to showcase a number of motorcycles, including its first all-electric offering in Italy.
