Urban Company launches Insta Maids service for Rs 49 an hour

Urban Company has joined the quick commerce race with the launch of a 15-minute maid booking service Insta Maids, according to a social media post by the company. 

The service would provide service like utensil cleaning, mopping, and even cooking preparation.

According to people in the know, the pricing of the service would start at Rs 49 for one hour. It would increase to Rs 75 for 1.5 hours and Rs 99 for 2 hours. 

It has been launched as a pilot in Mumbai and it is yet unclear if this would convert into a full-fledged service or not. 

This comes at a time when the Gurugram-based company is looking to file draft papers for a Rs 3,000 crore IPO. It is likely to be done the next 30 days. 

Quick commerce has become a competitive space with the entry of several new players like Swish and Zing, and a rapid expansion by current market leaders like Blinkit and Zepto.

Snabbit, another quick home services platform, has recently raised $5.5 million in Series A round funding led by Elevation Capital, with participation from Nexus Venture Partners, Meesho’s Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal, Unacademy’s Gaurav Munjal and Spinny’s Niraj Singh.

According to a recent report by Blume Ventures, the quick grocery delivery market has grown from just $300 million in FY22 to as much as $7.1 billion in FY25, with a 24-fold increase in gross order value (GOV) during the same period. 

It is projected to hit $89 billion in FY31, from $7.1 billion in FY25.
