RVNL shares in focus as it wins Rs 550 crore contract from NHAI

It’s raining orders for RVNL. The share price of RVNL rose 3.4% to the day’s high of Rs 342 after the company bagged Rs 554.64 crore contract from NHAI. The total period to execute the order is 730 days or a little over 2 years.

“It is hereby informed that Rail Vikas Nigam emerges as the Lowest Bidder (L1) from National Highway Authority of India for Construction of 6 lane access controlled connectivity to Visakhapatnam Port Road from Km 0.000 (Sabbavaram bypass of Anakapalli – Anandapuram corridor) to Km 12.660 (Sheelanagar junction) of NH 516C on Hybrid Annuity Mode in the State of Andhra Pradesh under NH (O) on Hybrid Annuity Mode,” read an exchange filing. 

Also, the company on March 10 signed another memorandum of understanding with Abhinava Strategic Partners, a non-listed entity, for Railway related work in Saudi Arabia. “To provide advisory services to RVNL related to the projects in the field of Railways, MRTS, Tunnels, Roads (Highways & Expressways), Bridges, Building Works, Airports, Ports, Irrigation, Power Transmission and Distribution sector, Solar sector, Wind sector, Hydro Power Sector etc. as and when opportunities arise in Saudi Arabia & Middle East Region,” the company stated.

The company reported a 13.1% year-on-year drop in net profit at Rs 311.6 crore for Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 358.6 crore in the third quarter of FY25. Its revenue fell 2.6% YoY to Rs 4,567.4 crore as against Rs 4,689.3 crore in the same quarter a year ago. At the operating level, EBITDA declined 3.9% YoY to Rs 239.4 crore in Q3 FY25. 

RVNL’s stock performance

The share price of RVNL has fallen slightly by 0.6% in the past five trading days. The stock has wiped out over 10% of investors’ wealth in the last one month and 40% in the previous six months. RVNL’s share price has given a return of 37% in the previous one year.

To compare, the benchmark index, Nifty 50 has risen 1.4% in the last five trading sessions. However, the index has fallen 2.4% in the past one month and more than 11% in the last six months. The index has risen 0.7% in the previous one year.
